Erdoğan: We will gradually lift the pandemic measures
Turkey’s President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the meeting of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of his party held via videoconference on Tuesday.
Addressing AK Party’s CEC via videoconference, Erdoğan said: “Every penny spent for the peace, prosperity, security and the future of the nation is well-spent. As we gradually lift the pandemic measures in line with the timeline we set, the wheels of production, inshallah, will once again begin to turn at full speed.”
Highlighting the sinister side of the COVID-19 pandemic which does not allow even the slightest complacency, Erdoğan said: “The current outcome shows that the measures we have taken are correct. In order to get through this pandemic, we have to continue to implement these measures without any compromise.”
Urging people to have a little more patience, Erdoğan said: “We know that if we do not make sacrifices now and leave behind this pandemic at the same time as the other countries, we will suffer greater losses. We have all been patient so far and are getting closer to the finish line. We will hang though for a little more time and then, reach better days.”
“All that matters is to leave behind the pandemic as soon as possible and with the least damage”
Also noting the financial support provided to citizens to help them get through these difficult times, Erdoğan said: “The amount of support we have announced so far as part of the Economic Stability Shield program has reached TL200 billion. This is the greatest support ever given directly to the real economy and low-income groups.”
“Every penny spent for the peace, prosperity, security and the future of the nation is well-spent. As we gradually lift the pandemic measures in line with the timeline we set, the wheels of production, inshallah, will once again begin to turn at full speed, and the coffers of the state and the pockets of the people will become full again. All that matters now is to leave behind this pandemic as soon as possible and with the least damage,” President Erdoğan said.
“The nature of the change in the world presents great new opportunities to Turkey. We as the nation and the state will display the necessary will, rapidly complete our preparations and work hard to make the best of this historic opportunity,” Erdoğan concluded. (ILKHA)
