Every year in April, the Prophet Lovers Foundation organized the mawlid events with the theme of "Understanding the Prophet and living his Sunnah" at the squares with the participation of millions of Prophet-loving people in different parts of the world, especially in Turkey, the mawlid events are being held on media platforms this year, due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak that has affected all the world.

The Mawlid program in Adana was broadcast on Rehber TV and @psevdalilari Twitter account.

The event, hosted by Hüseyin Ayaydın, began with the recitation of the Koran by Muaz Demir Hoca.

After the hymns performed by the vocal artists, the program was continued by reading Mawlid, the text especially composed for and recited at Prophet Muhammad's nativity celebration.

After the reciting of Mawlid, Sacit Pişkin, one of the writers of Söz ve Kalem Magazine, read an emotional poem.

The Theologian-Writer Mehmet Emre, one of members of Board of Trustees of the Prophet Lovers Foundation, made a speech that emphasized the meaning and importance of the day.

“Humanity, which does not follow in the Prophet’s footsteps, is in the darkness”

Underlining that to follow in the Prophet’s footsteps is a guarantee of not falling into fire, he said: We are all aware of the point that the people who say that they will achieve salvation of humanity by leading people up to now, without taking into account the Prophet Muhammad, without applying his teachings and practices, have brought humanity to this day. The darkness which humanity fall into because the Prophet has not been followed is deplorable.”

Stating that the family environment, which is supposed to be the guarantee of peace and security, is collapsing, Emre went on say: “Unfortunately, the marriage and family life, which Islam has submitted to humanity by removing illicit relationship between men and women and establishing a legal ground, are not very attractive to humanity today. People have come to prefer the illegitimate relations that the West has submitted to them. Even though they live in the same house as a family, there were generations whose hearts, opinions and goals were different. If people had followed in the Prophet’s footsteps, our homes could have been a branch of heaven on earth.”

"Young people grow up unaware of piety and fear of Allah"

Emre concluded as follows: “The Prophet tried to raise his children by giving priority to the hereafter. Unfortunately, today, parents spend most of their efforts to ensure that their children have a more comfortable and rich life. Of course, as a result, generations who lack faith, worship and Islamic morality are growing up. We see people rebelling against their parents, even beating their parents in our society. We have to ask ourselves who our community is following in the family matters.”
