Directorate of Communications releases a statement on media activities during the curfew
On Thursday, Turkey’s Directorate of Communication have released a statement on media activities and newspaper distribution during the curfew in the country on the weekend.
Recalling that along with other measures to prevent the pandemic, the curfew announced for the weekend in 31 provinces is of critical importance, the statement said: ”During these two days, our State maintains the order to meet the urgent and basic needs of our people. During the curfew, our press members will be able to continue their activities and our citizens will be able to receive newspapers.”
Newspapers, radio and television channels and newspaper printing houses will be open, and managers, staff and employees of the media outlets will be able to continue their activities, according to the statement.
“During this period, newspaper distribution companies will also be open. Newspaper distribution will be made to homes only by means of newspaper companies' own distribution vehicles, which will operate as a ring on the line, while drinking water will be supplied to homes by the drinking water distributors to be identified and the Vefa Social Support Units,” it concluded.
