Coronavirus in Netherlands: 122 people die from coronavirus in the last 24 hours
868 new confirmed coronavirus cases have been reported in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 27,419 in the Netherlands, the country’s Health Ministry announced in a statement on Tuesday.
The country’s death toll has risen to 2,945, an increase of 122 in the past 24 hours.
“Since not all COVID-19 patients are tested, the actual numbers in the Netherlands are higher than the numbers stated in the report,” the statement said.
Underlining that 28% of the confirmed COVID-19 patients reported to RIVM (National Institute for Public Health and the Environment) are known to be healthcare workers, the statement said: “The relatively high percentage of healthcare workers among patients with COVID-19 is explained by the fact that the testing policy is partly focused on this professional group.” (ILKHA)
