Belgium’s death toll from coronavirus increases by 494 in the last 24 hours
Belgium has so far reported 3,019 deaths from coronavirus, an increase of 494 in the past 24 hours.
According to the country’s Health Ministry, 1684 more people have tested positive for the virus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 26,667.
“A total of 5,610 patients have been admitted to hospital, including 462 new admissions in the last 24 hours. 1,278 patients have been admitted to intensive care units, a light decrease of 7 in the last 24 hours,” the Ministry said.
Since 15 March, 5 568 patients have recovered and have been discharged from hospital, an increase of 404 in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, in an effort to increase testing capacity in the country, a total of 11,000 kits are being distributed in Flanders, 7,000 in Wallonia and 2,000 in Brussels. (ILKHA)
