122 more people die from coronavirus pandemic in Iran
Iran has reported 122 more deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, taking the total death toll of the country from coronavirus to reaches 4,232 on Friday.
634 new cases have been confirmed with coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to Iran's Health Ministry Public Relations Office Kianoush Jahanpour.
Therefore, the total number of confirmed cases has reached 68,192 in the country.
“35,465 patients suffering from the novel coronavirus have recovered and been discharged from hospitals so far,” Jahanpour said.
“3,918 patients are in critical condition,” he added.
Iran reported its first confirmed cases of COVID-19 infections on 19 February 2020 in Qom.
As of 8 April 2020, Iran has the fifth-highest number of COVID-19 deaths after Italy, Spain, the United States and the United Kingdom, and the seventh-highest number of COVID-19 cases in the world.
The coronavirus pandemic, which was first identified in Wuhan, China, has until now infected 1,615,092 people, killing more than 96,791 worldwide. (ILKHA)
