Libya's former Prime Minister Jibril dies from Covid-19
Mahmoud Jibril, the former Libyan prime minister, was hospitalized in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, on March 27 after testing positive for coronavirus.
Jibril's death, in a Cairo hospital at the age of 68, was also confirmed by his former party, the National Forces Alliance (NFA).
In 2011, Jibril headed the National Transitional Council (NTC), the interim government during the NATO-backed rebellion that toppled and killed Libya's long-time ruler Muammar al-Gaddafi. (ILKHA)
