Coronavirus: 158 people die in the past 24 hours in Iran
158 people have died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours in Iran, bringing the total number of the deaths to 3,452, said Iran's Health Ministry Public Relations Office Kianoush Jahanpour on Saturday.
With new 2,560 confirmed case the number of people who tested positive for coronavirus has risen to 55,743 in the country.
“19,736 patients suffering from the novel coronavirus have recovered and been discharged from hospitals so far,” Jahanpour said.
Iran reported its first confirmed cases of COVID-19 infections on 19 February 2020 in Qom.
As of 29 March 2020, Iran has the fourth-highest number of COVID-19 deaths after Italy, China, and Spain, and the sixth-highest number of SARS-CoV-2 cases in the world.
The coronavirus outbreak, which was first identified in Wuhan, China, has until now infected 1,130,575 people, killing more than 60,124 worldwide. (ILKHA)
