Death toll from coronavirus reaches 3,294 in Iran
134 people have died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours in Iran, bringing the total number of the deaths to 3,294, said Iran's Health Ministry Public Relations Office Kianoush Jahanpour on Friday.
2,715 new cases have tested positive for coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of infected people in Iran to 53,183.
“16,711 people have recovered and discharged from hospitals,” Jahanpour said.
Iran reported its first confirmed cases of COVID-19 infections on 19 February 2020 in Qom.
As of 31 March 2020, Iran has the sixth-highest number of COVID-19 deaths after Italy, China, Spain, United States and France, and the seventh-highest number of SARS-CoV-2 cases in the world. (ILKHA)
