Death toll from coronavirus reaches 3,036 in Iran
138 people have died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours in Iran, bringing the total number of the deaths to 3,036, said Iran's Health Ministry Public Relations Office Kianoush Jahanpour on Wednesday.
2,987 new cases have tested positive for coronavirus over the past 24 hours, so the number of infected people in Iran have risen to 47,593.
“15,473 people have recovered and discharged from hospitals,” Jahanpour said.
Iran reported its first confirmed cases of COVID-19 infections on 19 February 2020 in Qom.
As of 29 March 2020, Iran has the fourth-highest number of COVID-19 deaths after Italy, China, and Spain, and the sixth-highest number of SARS-CoV-2 cases in the world. (ILKHA)
