129 people have died from coronavirus outbreak in the last 24 hours in Iran, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 853, said Head of Iran's Health Ministry Public Relations Office Kianoush Jahanpour on Monday.
Iran's President Hassan Rouhani said on Monday that the government adopted plan for public screening in different provinces as of 17 March to contain coronavirus outbreak.
1,053 more cases have tested positive in the past 24 hours, increasing the total number of infections in Iran to 14,991.
The official also confirmed 4,996 recovered cases so far.
Globally, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases has reaches 169,610 with 6,518 deaths in 157 countries. (ILKHA)
