118,753 houses sold in Turkey in February 2020
In Turkey, house sales increased by 51.4% in February 2020 compared to the same month of the previous year and hence, became 118,753, Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Monday.
According to the statement, for the house sales of February 2020, İstanbul had the highest share of house sales with 19.1% and 22,662 sold house. The followers of İstanbul were Ankara with 13,326 house sales and İzmir 7,669 house sales with the share of 11.2% and 6.5% respectively. The least house sold provinces were Hakkari with 5 house sales, Ardahan with 6 house sales and Bayburt with 32 house sales.
In February 2020, 43,733 ownership of the houses changed by mortgage sales
The mortgaged house sales throughout Turkey became 43,733 by increasing 391.9% compared to the same month of the previous year. House sales with mortgage had a 36.8% share of all house sales in Turkey. İstanbul has the highest mortgage house sales in Turkey with 8,281 sales and with the share of 18.9%. The least other house sales was realized in Ardahan with 3 house sales.
Ownership of 75,020 houses changed by other sales
Other house sales in Turkey became 75,020 by increasing 7.8% compared to the same month of the previous year. In the other sales, İstanbul was the first province with 14,381 sales and 19.2% share. Other house sales had 63.5% share of all house sales in İstanbul. Ankara was the second province with 7,399 sales. Ankara was followed by İzmir with 4,541 sales. The least other house sales was realized in Ardahan with 3 house sales.
In house sales, 37 303 of houses were sold for the first time
First house sales in Turkey became 37 303 by increasing 14.3% compared to the same month of the previous year. First house sales had 31.4% share of all house sales in Turkey. The most first house sales was in İstanbul with 7,326 sales. İstanbul was the first province in Turkey ranking that had most first house sales share with 19.6%. The followers of İstanbul were Ankara with 3,305 house sales and İzmir with 2,370 house sales.
Ownership of 81,450 houses changed by second hand sales
Second hand house sales in Turkey became 81,450 by increasing 77.8% compared to the same month of the previous year. In the second hand sales, İstanbul was the first province again with 15,336 sales and 18.8% share. Share of the second hand sales was 67.7% in İstanbul in total house sales. Ankara was the second province with 10,021 sales and Ankara was followed by İzmir with 5,299 sales.
Houses sales increased by 53.5% in January-February period
In the January-February period, 232,368 houses were sold and increased by 53.5% compared to the same period of the previous year. In the January-February period, sales of mortgaged houses was 85,970 and increased by 457.3%, and in other types of sales, it was 146 398 and increased by 7.7%. Houses sold for the first time in this period was 73,343 and increased by 15.1%. Second-hand house sales was 159,025 and also increased by 81.3%.
In February 2020, 4,005 houses were sold to foreigners
In house sales to foreigners became 4,005 by increasing 20.6% compared to the same month of the previous year. İstanbul was the first province with 1,987 sales in February 2020. The followers of
İstanbul were Antalya with 805 house sales, Ankara with 265 house sales, Yalova with 131 house sales and Bursa with 115 house sales.
In January-February period, house sales to foreigners became 7,912 by increasing 21.9% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Most house sales were made to Iran citizens according to country nationalities
In February, Iran citizens bought 721 houses from Turkey. The followers of Iran were Iraq with 691 house sales, Russia with 282 house sales, Afghanistan with 256 house sales and Jordan with 141 house sales. (ILKHA)
