The number of confirmed coronavirus cases rises to 27 in Kurdistan
After 8 more coronavirus infections were detected in the last 24 hours, the number of confirmed cases rose to 27 in the Kurdistan Region of northern Iraq, the health officials announced on Friday.
"Six of the patients are family members of a previous infected man who died two weeks ago," Ministry of Health said in a press release.
The last person that tested positive for coronavirus has returned from Italy, according to the officials.
Meanwhile, travel will be restricted between Sulaimani city and the outlying towns in the governorate until March 28 as a precaution to prevent the spread of coronavirus outbreak, Governor Haval Abubakr said during a press conference on Friday.
On March 3, a 70-year-old man died from coronavirus in Sulaimani just hours after it was announced he had contracted the outbreak. (ILKHA)
