"Antalya Diplomacy Forum" postponed due to coronavirus outbreak
"Antalya Diplomacy Forum, which was planned to be held on 27-29 March 2020 under the patronage of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has been postponed, said Directorate of Communications in a statement on Tuesday.
Underlining that major progress has been achieved so far regarding the preparations of the Forum, the statement said: "Due to the increase in the number of countries where the new type of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) has been observed recently, the World Health Organization has increased its risk assessment for the Covid-19 outbreak to the level of "very high"; the European Union has also raised the level of its risk assessment."
Reminding that in the face of this situation, together with international meetings to be organized by the UN and the EU, cultural, sports and economic activities with broad participation are also being canceled or postponed, the statement said: "In this respect, although no cases have been encountered in Turkey so far, it has been found appropriate to postpone the 'Antalya Diplomacy Forum' to a later date, taking into account the recommendations of the World Health Organization and other relevant authorities, in terms of events to be celebrated in the future."
