Evaluating the attack carried out by Syrian regime troops in Idlib, Sağlam said: "Turkey should do its best in order to avoid being a warring side in Syria. To this end, the channels of diplomacy and dialogue must be used to the end."

Stating that the issue should not be referred to the imperialist powers and the war is not an option in Islamic Geography, Sağlam stressed: "What matter really is peace. A solution other than war must be found in Syria."

Reminding the airstrike that Syrian regime troops, backed by Russia, carried out on Turkish forces in Idlib, killing 34 soldiers and wounding 32 others, Sağlam said: "I wish Allah's mercy upon the victims who have lost their lives in this heartbreaking incident, offers my condolences to the families of them and wish urgent healing for the wounded."

"We said at the beginning of the Syria crisis that the sedition fire, which had been burning in Syria, should be extinguished as soon as possible, otherwise it has the potential to spread throughout the region," he remarked.

Everybody must know that the Western countries who participated in the meetings as 'friends of Syria' in the early stages of the war in the country were not friends of Syria and Syrians, nor did they want the war in Syria to end. Therefore, the solution of the Syrian issue should not be sought in the United States, NATO, the EU or Russia.

"Turkey should do its best in order to avoid becoming a warring side in Syria. To this end, the channels of diplomacy and dialogue must be used to the end," he urged.

"As a Kurdish proverb says, 'Behave warmly while forming a friendship, stay frosty while nursing an enmity', it is a necessity to act wisely and calmly," he added. (ILKHA)
