US Senate passes a resolution curbing Trump's authority to wage war on Iran
The U.S. Senate passed a resolution, which was chiefly authored by Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia and obtained bipartisan support, to limit Trump's ability to wage a war against Iran without congressional approval.
Despite it was opposed by Donald Trump, eight republicans voted in favor of the resolution in the Senate.
"If my hands were tied, Iran would have a field day. Sends a very bad signal. The Democrats are only doing this as an attempt to embarrass the Republican Party. Don’t let it happen! It is very important for our Country’s SECURITY that the United States Senate not vote for the Iran War Powers Resolution. We are doing very well with Iran and this is not the time to show weakness," tweeted Trump on Wednesday. (ILKHA)
