A war between Turkey and Syria would not make positive contribution to the peace: Sağlam
In his weekly statement on foreign agenda, HÜDA PAR Chairman İshak Sağlam made important assessments about the killings of Turkish troops in Syria, hypocritical policy of Russia, so-called the Deal of The Century and hired mercenaries of the UAE.
Commenting on Syrian regime attack, which targeted Turkish reinforcements and Turkey's retaliatory strikes against the regime, Sağlam stressed that an armed conflict between Turkey and Syrian regime would not make positive contribution to the peace of the region.
Sağlam noted that the tension unfolding between Syrian regime and Turkey in Idlib marked the beginning of a dangerous process, adding that Russia followed a two-faced policy in Syria as the U.S did.
The conflict between Turkey and Syrian regime
Reminding that despite Sochi agreement, the attacks on Idlib are going on, Sağlam said: "Under the Sochi agreement reached between Russia and Turkey in 2019, 4 de-escalation zones were declared in Syria but hundreds of people were killed in the attacks of Russia and Syrian regime targeting the de-escalation zones apart from Idlib. Despite the official reconciliations, the operations against de-escalation zones showed that the diplomatic process was used by Russia and Syrian regime to obtain new positions. Finally, despite the ceasefire declared for Idlib on January 12, regime forces and Russia violated the ceasefire and intensified their attacks. Hospitals and civilian settlements were targeted and hundreds of thousands of people were forced to migrate."
"Russia has pursued a two-faced policy like the U.S. from the beginning in Syria"
Sağlam went on to say: "Russia, like the United States, has been pursuing a hypocritical policy in Syria since the beginning of the civil war. It is important that Turkish Government has seen the fact. Russia, whose ultimate goal is to win its struggle against the U.S. in the field, commits war crimes against civilians and doesn’t care about establishing a political solution and peace in Syria. By acting in the light of this fact, the internal problems in Islamic countries, especially Syria, need to be solved through dialogue among Muslims without being referred to the imperialists."
Underlining that the tension in Idlib is an indication of a dangerous process, he said: "From this moment on, the tension between the Syrian regime and Turkey in Idlib shows that a dangerous process has begun. In the ongoing proxy war between the United States and Russia, the confrontation between Syria and Turkey will not contribute to regional peace and the problem will become even more inextricable. Turkey should not have involved in the war in Syria in no sense. At this stage, direct confrontation with Syrian regime forces should be avoided. Once again, it became clear that it is not possible for the region to attain peace without the global imperialist powers excluded from the equation."
The so-called "the Deal of the Century"
Speaking about Trump's sinister plan on Middle East, Sağlam said: "The plan, drafted under the leadership of the United States and the occupation regime and defined as the Middle East peace plan, was unveiled by Trump. The plan gives Jerusalem as a whole to the occupation regime and stipulates conditions such as the recognition of occupation regime, abandoning arms and accepting new borders before the recognition of Palestinian State. It aims at de-identifying and displacing of Palestinians.
The settlements that were usurped by zionist gangs in violation of the Oslo Treaty, the UNSC Resolution No. 2334 as well as the international law are given to the occupation regime. The plan, which paves the way for massacres and genocide, has exposed the tyrannical face of the U.S. government once again."
"It is now necessary to take serious preventive steps. Because this imposing plan poses a danger of genocide. The role of the United States in the UNSC, which flagrantly violates international law, now threatens the world in a serious way. The whole world have to find a solution to this immediately," Sağlam added.
Calling on Arab League and Islamic Cooperation Organization to take serious preventive steps against the sinister plan, Sağlam stated: "Although it is an important decision for the Arab League's Foreign Ministers to declare at their last meeting that they will not recognize this plan of the United States, it should be known that it will not have any effect. The Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and all Islamic countries, putting aside all their disputes among them, should take concrete steps against this plan of betrayal and unite around the Palestinian cause in order to prevent implementation of the plan. As the first step in ending these occupation and terrorist activities, the recognition of the Zionist regime as a state must be rejected and all trade relations with them must be terminated."
The mercenaries of the United Arab Emirates
Touching upon detrimental activities of the United Arab Emirates in the countries of the region, Sağlam went on to say: " The United Arab Emirates, which has tricked Sudanese youth with a promise to make them security guards through security companies, is dispatching them to the countries such as Libya and Yemen in order to use them in the clashes. For this reason, a crowd has protested the country in front of its embassy in Khartoum, Sudan's capital. The UAE also acted in favor of the occupation regime in the annexation plan of Palestine, and finally, with his support for Hafter forces in Libya, caused the violation of the ceasefire and the loss of civilian lives."
Sağlam continued as follows: "The United States is making economic gains through countries such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia, one of its biggest weapons customers, and is also forming a political ground in favor of its interests in the Islamic geography. The arms that they bought from the U.S. are being used in Islamic countries in order to deepen the chaos."
Muslims should take action against the detrimental steps of the UAE that pose a threat for the stability of the region
"Muslim public opinion should act against the steps taken by regimes such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia that threaten the security and stability of the region. Otherwise, as in Yemen, Libya and Syria, civil wars and chaos would affect the entire region. It is necessary for the countries of the region to get consensus about this matter. The organizations such as such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation should impose comprehensive sanctions on those countries pose a threat to the stability of Islamic countries. (ILKHA)
