Death toll reaches to 521 in coronavirus outbreak
Chinese Consul General in Istanbul Cui Wei said Monday that death toll from coronavirus outbreak had risen to 521 with 17 bin 335 infected.
On the other, China's National Health Commission announced on Monday that 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps had reported 2,829 new cases of confirmed infections (including 2,103 in Hubei province), 5,173 new cases of suspected infections (including 3,260 in Hubei province), 186 new serious cases (including 139 in Hubei province), and 57 deaths (including 56 in Hubei province and 1 in Chongqing) and 147 patients were released from hospitals after being cured, including 80 in Hubei province.
So far, 189,583 people have been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 152,700 are now under medical observation. On Feb 2, 10,055 people were freed from observation.
As of 12 o'clock, midnight on Feb 2, 33 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 15 in Hong Kong, 8 in Macao and 10 in Taiwan.
Cases have been detected in other countries, carried by international traveler. Those countries are as follows:
