European Yetim Eli to begin relief efforts in Kenya
Charity organizations continue their works in Kenya, an African country that stricken by economic and political turmoil for years.
The European Yetim Eli (Orphan Help), an international help organization based in Mannheim, Germany, is making orphans and the needy happy with relief efforts such as food and clothes aids, fresh water well projects as well as mass circumcision organizations in Africa.
In order to deliver the donations made by philanthropists to the needy, A Yetim Eli delegation arrived at Kenya where they will stay for a week.
The delegation landed in the country after 9-hour air travel from Germany to Istanbul and from there to Nairobi, the capital of Kenya capital. Then they went to Garissa, a city far away 400 km from the capital, by road.
Speaking to Ilke News Agency about acts of charity that they are going to conduct in Kenya, the voluntary representative of the organization, Serdar Şişman said:" After 24–hours journey, we have arrived at Garissa. We are now at a village where we received a warm welcome from the children. If Allah permits, we will perform charitable acts in this village as well as neighboring ones."
"We continue to carry out our projects and works without any deceleration"
Stating that as part of their relief efforts, they would carry out the projects such as the distribution of hundreds of milk goats, giving each family 2 milk goats, he went on to say:" Every house will hopefully benefit from this projects. We have also projects about religious offering and aqiqah, which is the Islamic tradition of the sacrifice of an animal on the occasion of a child's birth. We will continue to carry out our projects and works without any deceleration, if Allah wills. Starting tomorrow, we will start to carry out our projects."
"African countries witness Humanitarian plight"
Pointing out the plight of African people, Şişman said:"There is innocence here. We see very well that people have financial difficulties. First, as European Yetim Eli, we want to relieve their plight as much as we can. There are 300 thousand people living in Garissa. These people need water, mosque and a place for children to be educated. As the European Yetim Eli, by Allah's leave, we will open a mosque here. We must not consider a mosque as only a place to worship, but also the children would receive their academic and religious education in it. From earlier observation, we saw that the number of the poor is very high in Garissa. These people are having a lot of trouble, especially with water shortages, housing and various other issues. They have trouble on rainy days because their houses do not have roofs here. Therefore, we have preferred this city to perform our relief works. (ILKHA)
