Turkey's lignite production amounts to 7 million 152 thousand 765 tonnes in November
Lignite production decreased by 0.7% in November compared to the same month of the previous year, by 1.6% in January-November period compared to the same period of the previous year, Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Friday.
On the other hand, its production increased by 0.1% compared to the previous month, according to the statement.
Marketable production of hard coal decreased by 2.2% in November compared to the same month of the previous year. On the other hand, its production increased by 8.2% in January-November period compared to the same period of the previous year, and by 0.7% compared to the previous month.
Marketable production of coke derived from hard coal decreased by 3.4% in November compared to the same month of the previous year, by 5.7% compared to the previous month and by 1.7% in January-November period compared to the same period of the previous year.
Imports of hard coal increased by 6.8% monthly
Imports of hard coal increased by 46.4% compared to the same month of the previous year and by 6.8% compared to the previous month. On the other hand, its imports decreased by 3.6% in January-November period compared to the same period of the previous year.
Imports of coke derived from hard coal decreased by 67.2% compared to the same month of the previous year, by 34.4% in January-November period compared to the same period of the previous year, and by 65.5% compared to the previous month.
The lowest ratio of production to deliveries was in hard coal in January-November period
The lowest ratio (2) of production to deliveries was in hard coal by 3.2%. This ratio was 90.8% for coke derived from hard coal and 102.9% for lignite in January-November period.
Hard coal and lignite were delivered mostly to thermal power plants
Concerning the deliveries of solid fuels in November, hard coal was delivered with a percentage of 54.4% to thermal power plants, 15.8% to coking plants, and 8.1% to industry (except iron and steel industry). On the other hand, 87.4% of lignite was delivered to thermal power plants and 8.1% to industry (except iron and steel industry). Lastly, 93.3% of coke derived from hard coal was delivered to iron and steel industry. (ILKHA)
