6 killed in a new US air strike in Baghdad
An air strike was carried out on Saturday early morning against a convoy of the Hashdi Shabi members in Baghdad, according to the local sources.
It was reported that a Hashdi Shabi military base was targeted, six people were killed and three were seriously injured.
On the other hand, Hashdi Shabi said in a written statement that a medics convoy was hit in the air strike near the Taji stadium in Baghdad but no senior members were killed or wounded.
On 3 January 2020, amid rising tensions between the United States and Iran, the U.S. launched a drone strike on a convoy traveling near Baghdad International Airport, killing ten passengers, including Iranian major general and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Quds Forces commander Qasem Soleimani, Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces commander Abu Mahdi al- Muhandis, four senior Iranian officers and four Iraqi officers.
