The members of the United Nation Council on Sunday condemned “in the strongest possible terms” Saturday's car bomb attack in Somalia, in which dozens of innocent people, including women and children, were killed or injured.

The council members stated their determination to support peace, stability and development in Somalia, underlining that their determination cannot be weakened by any attacks.

UN chief António Guterres has also condemned what he described as this horrendous crime, according to a statement issued by his spokesperson.

Mr. Guterres has also extended his deepest sympathies to the victims and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the blast.

In a suicide car bombing at a checkpoint, at least 79 people were killed and 149 more injured in Mogadishu on Saturday. (ILKHA)
