Hamas calls for elections to include Palestinians in diaspora
Hamas chief abroad Maher Salah called for the coming elections to include all Palestinian people including Palestinians residing in the diaspora.
During a popular meeting held in Ain al-Hilweh camp, a Palestinian refugee camp in Sidon in southern Lebanon, Salah reiterated the necessity for the election process to be fair and transparent and election results be respected.
The Hamas leadership has been working in coordination with its representatives in Lebanon to alleviate the suffering of Palestinian refugees in the country through urgent medical and humanitarian aid, Salah added.
Salah pointed out that the harsh living conditions of Palestinians in the diaspora was one of the key topics discussed by Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in his meetings with Arab officials.
Salah reaffirmed his movement’s position rejecting all forms of resettlement of Palestinian refugees, noting that Palestinians do not intervene into affairs of any country.
The senior Hamas official stressed that the Palestinian people in diaspora are sticking to their right to return to their homeland along with Palestinian national constants.
As for the “Deal of the Century”, Salah said that the Palestinian rejection of Trump’s plan would make its implementation impossible. (ILKHA)
