Turkey's current account surplus records $1.55B in Oct
The current account surplus recorded USD 1,549 million indicating a decrease of USD 1,077 million compared to October of the previous year, bringing the 12-month rolling surplus to USD 4,336 million, the Turkish Central Bank said in a statement on We
"This development in the current account is mainly attributable to USD 924 million deficit in goods item, against USD 630 million surplus observed in the same month of the previous year," the statement noted.
Gold and energy excluded current account surplus recorded USD 5,332 million indicating a decrease of USD 700 million while travel item under services recorded a net inflow of USD 2,759 million, increasing by USD 238 million compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the statement.
"Investment income under primary income item indicated a net outflow of USD 951 million decreasing by USD 116 million in comparison to the same month the previous year," the statement said.
