The House voted 405-11 in favor of a resolution, seeks to recognize the so- called Armenian genocide.

The bill was introduced by Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff, the co-chair of the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues.

Turkey does not accept the so-called genocide, acknowledging that there were deaths on both sides during the incidents of World War I.

Another bipartisan bill was also passed 403-16 seeking to impose sanctions on Turkey over its operation against YPG/PKK in northeastern Syria.

The bill was introduced by House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Eliot Engel and Lead Republican Michael McCaul, aims to sanction Turkish officials involved in the operation and banks involved in the defense sector.

The only Democrat who opposed sanctions against Turkey was Ilhan Omar. (ILKHA)
