The Ministry of Interior announced that 127 members of the organization surrendered in the first four months of 2019 because of the convincing efforts of law enforcement agencies with the support of families.

Operations carried out by Turkish security forces recently increased the fear and panic in the organization said in a statement Turkish Interior Ministry.

Stating that escape from the organization has reached its peak in recent years, the interior ministry noted that the ministry has started a new period in which psychological and sociological methods are tried out of military methods in the fight against terrorism.

"In this process, the intelligence of the security forces comes together with the support of families who lost their children to the terrorist organization. 127 members of the organization surrendered in the first four months of 2019, thanks to the efforts of the security forces to persuade members with the support of families."

"82 of those who surrendered were separated from the terrorist organization by persuasion," the ministry said.

Turkish Interior Ministry has started a new counter-terrorism style; persuading members of the organization with the support of families, who have recruited by the organization and fed up of sexual attacks, abuses, and humiliations they were subjected.

Families now participate in coordinated security forces to call this a stop. Families who have lost their children to the terrorist organization struggle to support security forces in the process. The success of this method is reflected in the recent rising surrender of organization members to security forces.

The families whose children are on the mountain express their regrets with the words, "We wish we could bring them back sooner."

82 of the elements of the organization surrendered

The right strategies and all these steps are increasing the number of terrorists surrendered through persuasion, said ministry while announced that, 366 members of the organization surrendered in 2016while 49 of them were happened by persuasion.

The number of surrendered organization member in 2017 to Turkish security forces announced as 417, while 135 of them were through persuasion. Interior Ministry announced the surrender of 375 organization member in 2018 while 165 were by persuasion.

"In 2019 (as of 30 April 2019) 127 members of the terrorist organization surrendered. 82 of them were persuaded to leave the organization with the support of families."

The vast majority of the recruits are in the 13-25 age group

According to the age participation in the organization, the majority of adolescents aged between 13-25 and individuals in the late adolescence period joined the organization the statement said.

Children in these age groups, who were recruited forcible, are subjected to sexual assaults, abuses, and humiliations within the terrorist organization. Children trapped in the PKK/KCK - youngsters think that ‘there is no place to go’ and that ‘there is no way to escape.

Mentioning about the fight of a mother to save his son recruited by the terrorist organization, the statement of interior ministry said the mother finally could save her son, who was training at a camp abroad, after sleeping two nights on rocks.
