The Australian Cardinal, George Pell, was sentenced to six years in prison for sexually harassing two boys.
Former Vatican Minister of Economy, 77-year-old Australian Cardinal George Pell was sentenced to six years in prison for sexually harassing two boys.
The moral collapse of the churches was a long-known fact, and Pell was the first high-ranking figure to go to jail for child abuse.
At the hearing held at the Melbourne District Court and broadcast live on television, a judge said to Pell that he had committed "a brazen and forcible sexual attack on the two victims," when Pell was a bishop in 1996-2001.
"Your conduct was permeated by staggering arrogance," Judge added and ruled that Pell was sexually harassing two 13-year-old boys in the churchyard.
