No customs duty on import of potatoes in Turkiye
The decision to rescind the customs duty on the importation of potatoes was published in the Official Gazette.
According to the decision published in the Official Gazette, signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the customs duty on the importation of potatoes was zeroed.
The decision foresees imports of 200,000 tons of potatoes without imposing customs duties. Imports of customs-free potatoes will be available until 20 April 2019.
The Communiqué on the implementation of the tariff quota for potato imports included the following statements;
"This Communiqué has been prepared based on the Resolution on the Implementation of Tariff Quotas in the Importation of Potatoes, which was put into force with the decision of the President of the Republic of Turkiye dated March 10, 2019, and numbered 815."
