Victimization of Sivas Case prisoners continues, who have been sentenced on fake evidence and police' plots alleged to be connected with the fire in Sivas Madımak Hotel on July 2, 1993, where 37 people were killed.

HUDA PAR Istanbul Provincial Chairman Erdal Elibüyük and his accompanying party delegation visited the families of Sivas Case prisoners and listened to their problems.

Families, who thanked HUDA PAR delegation for their visits, stated that their children who have been unjustly in prisons have not been seen for many years. Families who want their victimization to be seen called the authorities to open the way for a retrial.

In the name of eliminating their grievances, families they repeatedly called on the President, the Ministry of Justice, and stated that they had intervened with the authorities and attempted for the persecution imposed on them and their children to come to an end.

In the context of the visits, Elibüyük visited parents of Ekrem Kurt, one of the victims of the Sivas case.

Mother Fatma Kurt and father Cafer Kurt told about their victimization. Parent has said that their children had been wrongfully imprisoned for 26 years. Parents noted that their son Ekrem was playing football during the fire, despite all his friends witnessed, the court didn't take it into account.

The victim family expressed that despite years of illegality at that time, their grievances were still not resolved.

Visiting another victim mother, Medine Ceylan, 85, whose 3 sons are in prison since that time, Elibüyük and his delegation listened to the grievances experienced by the heartbroken mother.

Ceylan expressed that her 3 sons, Faruk, Ethem and Metin were unjustly punished. Ceylan's sons are in prisons for 26 years while she says she endure this pain with the faith she has for Allah.

Elibüyük and accompanying delegation then visited another Sivas Case victim family, İbrahim Duran's family.

Speaking to the delegation, father Celal Duran expressed their grievances, noted that his son was sentenced to death even he had nothing to do with the fire.

Painful father informed the delegation that he has applied to many government officials to prove his son was not guilty, but he could not get a result.

Commenting on his visits, Elibüyük said that many innocent people who had nothing to do with the events in Sivas were subjected to torture at that time and that they had been imprisoned unjustly.

"Not even the slightest step was taken for the real perpetrators to be brought to justice"

Elibüyük said that the government, who played an active role in the process of February 28, was responsible for those events. "Unfortunately, there were sad events in Sivas. However, in the background, we saw the game is big. The writers of the script have chosen their victims."

Elibüyük underlined that many innocent people were arrested allegedly involving in the events, who were not in the city that night and who were not at the scene.

"They were tortured for days and had to sign the statements they had never read. The government of the time, which played an active role in the process of February 28, is responsible for this event. Not even the slightest step was taken for the real perpetrators to be brought to justice."

Addressing to the government, Elibüyük underscored that today's government is a partner in this persecution by not trying to eliminate the victimization. (Ramadan Casuk - ILKHA)
