Saudi prosecutor asks death penalty for five in Khashoggi case

In the investigation of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who was killed in the General Consulate in Istanbul, Saudi prosecutor requested the death penalty of five people suspected of murder.

In a statement made by the Saudi prosecutor's Office, the death sentence of 5 suspects was requested.

An investigation was launched against the Crown Prince Selman's Advisors, Kahtani, and imposed a ban on leaving the country, the statement said.

"The crime was carried out after a physical altercation with the victim where he was forcibly restrained and injected with a large amount of a drug resulting in an overdose that led to his death," the statement read.
