Aydın underlined that arresting a medicine student for what she said, "Ataturk is not a deity," is a step of resuscitating of Kemalist secularism.

"Kemalists have a desire to return to the old days"

Stating that Kemalists are still strong and effective in the state by the recent events, Aydın emphasized that they carry a desire to return to the old days.

"First they put the racist 'student oath' on the agenda. They want to bring this racist oath back again. They announced with the mouth of a CHP deputy that they want the adhan to be read in Turkish language and even the Qur'an to be read in Turkish. And now, a student, whose name is Emine Şahin was arrested just because she said 'Ataturk is not a deity'"

Aydın stated that the Kemalists have carried out enmity against the religion and value of this people and caused great pain for the people and for the country.

Aydın pointed out that Turkey should be rid of the reactionary Kemalist mentality in order to be a great, prosperous, free country and to ensure trust and peace between the state and the people.

 Aydın also emphasized that the biggest obstacle to peace between the people and the state is the Kemalist mentality and that the government should do its part and relax the people.
