President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the Turkish Youth Summit held at Davutpaşa Congress Center of Yıldız Technical University, in Istanbul.

"The views we witnessed after the Council of State's decision on 'nationalist oath' has increased our determination on this issue even further," said President Erdoğan in his speech at the Turkish Youth Summit held in Yıldız Technical University Davutpaşa Campus.

Emphasizing that they will not give an opportunity to "brothers fight", President Erdoğan said, "We will not allow anyone to drag the young people of this country into a brothers fight for their political ambitions."

"After the Council of State's decision on 'nationalist oath', those shares on social media, news in some media organs have increased our determination even more," he said. "In terms of content, this text [nationalist oath] is not a text that reveals the culture and the look of this nation."

"Our oath is our national anthem. Is there a better oath than the national anthem? Nobody denies that you're a Turk," said the President.

Underlining that he is a Turk but not a Turkist, the President noted that Islam rejects racism. "This text [nationalist oath] is the text of those who want to read the Adhan in the Turkish language." (ILKHA)
