HUDA PAR Istanbul Women Branches Provincial Vice President Meryem Kiraz accompanying with a delegation from Zeytinburnu Women's Branch paid a visit to the East Turkestan Nuzugum Culture and Family Association on Thursday.

The delegation, which welcomed by the Chairman of the East Turkestan Nuzugum Culture and Family Association, Münevver Özuygur, informed about the East Turkestan Muslims who were subjected to serious torture under the Chinese persecution.

While the Eastern Turkistan Muslims in Turkiye cannot get news from their relatives in Chinese prisons, also cannot meet their needs in public institutions such as health and education.

Uighur women, whose husbands are in prison and who take refuge in Turkiye with their children, also have to work to feed their children. It is known that 80 percent of these women are widows or in some way have not heard from their spouses or relatives in China.

East Turkestan Nuzugum Culture and Family Association President Münevver Özuygur, who gave information about the difficulties experienced in East Turkestan and the difficult living conditions of Uighurs in Turkiye, said that East Turkestan Muslims are going towards extinction quietly.

Expressing that she has been living in Turkiye for about 15 years, Özuygur said, "I've witnessed a lot of things during this time. It is very comfortable to worship and cover when compared to East Turkestan."

"Even the basic rights granted to us, which is normal to people, are not given in Eastern Turkistan, so it is a great favor to us," she said.

Özuygur said that they have no vital danger in Turkiye, "But we are deprived of many things compared to foreigners living in Turkiye. We never complained, though. The most important thing for us is to do our prayers comfortably. We praise for this."

"Muslims are dying there because of hunger and torture"

"The Muslims in East Turkestan could not even get a slice of bread without praising the Chinese government," Özuygur continued her speech as follows:

"Muslims die there because of hunger and torture. Because our girls are wearing hijab, they deliberately undress and being thrown into the men's cell," said Özuygur by expressing that the Chinese officers punish veiled Muslim girls in this way.

Talking about a tortured woman brought from East Turkestan to Turkiye, Özuygur said, "We have a sister here, whose fingernails were pulled one by one and attacked by the dogs while in prison. She never speaks because of depression."

Drawing attention to the brutality in East Turkestan, Özuygur noted that the pain they are suffering is not normal.

"Muslims should be able to solve the problems of their brother in unity"

"If there was solidarity among the Muslims, we would not be in this situation now," said HUDA PAR Istanbul Women's Branch of Provincial Vice President Meryem Kiraz. "Muslims should be able to solve problems of their brothers in unity."

Calling to the authorities, Kiraz said, "The government also needs to provide opportunities for our muhaacir [migrant] brothers in the field of education, health and employment. Because human life is more important than anything else is. The government must stand with our brothers who have taken refuge here because of their Islamic identity."

Party officials did not neglect to give gifts to children at the end of their visit. (Nizamettin Aşkın - ILKHA)
