Kept in the prison in Turkiye for 18 years because of his Islamic identity Mehmet Tahir Ak's 82-year-old mother Hasine has passed away on Sunday.

Hasina Ak, who was living in Batman city center, had many illnesses such as cardiac disease, blood pressure, and laboured breathing. Ak, who has been treated at various hospitals from time to time, has passed away last night on Sunday due to illness and old age.

The mother, who has longed for her son in prison for 18 years, was buried in Batman's Asri Cemetery in early hours of Sunday. (ILKHA)
