A written statement by Turkiye's Foreign Ministry for the general election held in Iraq.

Despite some "terrorist acts" and "allegations of irregularity" in Iraq, parliamentary elections have been completed read the statement and added that they wish the election result to bring the best to the brotherly people of Iraq who have been suffering from great pain and distress for many years.

Turkish Foreign Minister also made a call on Iraq for those irregularity allegations to be investigated by the Independent High Electoral Commission of Iraq for the establishment of the legitimacy of the election result.

"Attaching great importance to the preservation of political unity and territorial integrity of Iraq, Turkiye believes that the formation of a government that would embrace all segments of the Iraqi people will be essential to successfully overcome the formidable challenges ahead, such as the fight against terrorism, re-construction, and social reconciliation. It will also have positive implications on the security and stability of our region," said Foreign Ministry at the end of the statement. (ILKHA)
