Afghan asylum seekers, who left their country due to the recent increasing poverty, unemployment and security threat and become immigrant, continue to come to Turkiye illegally.

Afghan immigrants, who set out on the journey to the thousands of kilometers away their country, and many times fall into the hands of human smuggler, defrauded or lose their lives on the route, usually cross the Turkiye's border from Iran by walking and try to reach Ağrı, Iğdır, Van and Erzurum provinces.

Human traffickers, who received a high amount of money from Afghan immigrants with the promise to take them to Istanbul, leave them in the deserted area after crossing the Iranian border.

On their way, tougher times waiting for Afghan migrants, who cross the desolate and fearful mountains on the journey that they started with great hopes.

Hundreds of Afghan immigrants, including children and women, who lose all their money to human traffickers, walk desperately for hundreds of miles.

Some Afghan asylum seekers can directly reach to Istanbul while some others walk and caught, then send back to their country.

Some 2,000 Afghan nationals, migrants who have entered Turkiye illegally last week from the Iranian border, were transferred to repatriation centers in Ağrı, Van, Iğdır, and Erzurum to be sent to their country.

The hopes of Afghan migrants, who come out with a thousand dreams, end in the cases they are captured. Many migrants are getting sick in the rush trip, many are being returned back to their country with hunger and misery. (Şükrü Tontaş - ILKHA)
