New Ihya Association Chairman Aytaç Baran was martyred in the armed attack carried out by PKK 2 days after the 7 June 2015 general elections while he was going to his house from the association where he was in Islamic services. Aytaç Baran was married and had four children, one of whom is a girl.

Speaking at the annual anniversary of Baran's murder by PKK, Ömer Çelik, Chairman of the Martyrs Caravan Platform, said that Baran was in an effort to comply with Allah and tell the religion of Islam to people at all times.

Çelik said, “There are great brave men among the believers who fulfilled the promise they gave to Allah. And some of them are waiting. Aytaç Baran fulfilled the promise he gave. Martyrdom is one of highest level in Islam. It is the highest level to deliver the soul that given by Allah on the path of Allah. Martyr Aytac Baran lived like a martyr in his actual life. Those tyrants who martyred Aytaç Baran were drowned in his blood. Those who martyred Aytaç Baran, after that time they did not see a comfortable face and eventually one of the killers was killed. Others also died.”

“They were pursuing chaos by martyring Baran”

Evaluating the case launched on the slaughtering Baran, Çelik said:

“We see the similar statements in the case of Aytaç Baran that made in Yasin Börü and his friends case. Many of the known perpetrators were released by the court on October 6-8. There was not enough evidence sent to the court by police. While the images of the perpetrators who martyred Aytac were clear, the police did not deepened the investigation by saying ‘images are not clear.’ After the July 15 coup attempt, we understood that they are members of FETO parallel state. So on in the later documents revealed that they worked together with the PKK.”

“You must live like a martyr so that you drink the martyr's sherbet”

Çelik underlines that there are many lessons to be taken from the martyrdom of Aytaç Baran, said: “Do not think that those who are killed in the way of Allah are dead, they are giveth on their Lord's side. Do not be afraid, work in the way of Allah and fight in order to win Allah's favor. The martyrs give good news to their brothers who are left behind because they are gained the favor of Allah and the blessings of heaven. So it is necessary to take lessons and teachings from the life of Martyr Aytac in the light of this ayah. One, must live like a martyr so that do drink the martyr’s sherbet.” (M. Sıddık Bilge, M.
