Mehmet Erdoğan, a visually impaired 83-year-old who listened to the Holy Quran with the MP4 player he carried with him in the vicinity of Diyarbakir's Sur province, is trying to keep alive this way.

Erdoğan told about his life story, saying that he lost his sense of sight 5 years ago. Looking at the life with his heart, said Erdoğan and added that the path of right is the way of Quran.

Erdoğan said, “I have no eyes, I would not have such difficulty if I had eyes. Allah took them from me. It is better for Muslims and me if Allah did this. Thank God I do not complain. I have lost my eyes for 5 years. I am holding on to my life by listening to the Qur'an and I stand with the help of Allah and the Qur'an. Heaven and hell are the obvious. Allah may keep us from evil.”

“You will reach to the heaven if you go on the path of Quran”

Erdoğan, who stated that the path of truth and right is obvious, said: “Those who does not go on the way of the Qur'an, does not benefit from anything. The right is to go on the path of the Qur'an.
