Speaking to reporters before the meeting with Russian President Putin, Turkiye President Erdoğan said, “We have a period in which we have important responsibilities on our part,” he said, referring to bilateral relations and regional issues in detail. “I believe that the step that Russia and Turkey to take here will change the fate of the region.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is in Sochi, Russia, met with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Presidency Residence.

President Erdoğan expressed his gratitude to Russia's President Putin for the meeting, said that they will be able to consider the bilateral relations between the Russian Federation and Turkiye as well as the regional problems in detail and say, “We have a period in which we have important responsibilities. I believe that the step that Russia and Turkiye to take here will change the fate of the region.”

Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Deputy Secretary General of the Presidency Spokesman Ibrahim Kalin, President of the Republic of Turkey, President of Secretariat of the National Intelligence Hakan Fidan, were present in the Turkish delegation while Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu and Kremlin Foreign Policy Adviser Yuriy Uşakov were present in Russian delegation. (ILKHA)
