A new step from Hungary in violating international law

In the statement made by the Hungarian Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was stated that the competent authorities, which the border police and asylum applications for hardened regulations on evaluation of asylum seekers, started the necessary preparations.

According to the practice, asylum seekers will remain in two separate containers near Serbia until a decision is made on asylum applications. The application will include children between the ages of 14 and 18 who entered Hungary without their parents.

The Hungarian Parliament has decided on March 7 that the asylum seekers will be kept in transit regions near the border until a decision is reached on asylum applications, including the new asylum seekers in Hungary as well as asylum seekers currently in the country.

While the decision of the UN Refugee Agency and Amnesty International in Hungary has criticized a tough order, the jurists stated that it is against international law to keep asylum seekers completely in container camps.

Human Rights Watch (HRW) criticized the European Union on this issue and said that the EU Commission was late to take responsibility for asylum seekers in Hungary. The organization also has warned that other EU countries could apply Hungary's practices individually. (Fırat Arslan - ILKHA)
