The 11th High Criminal Court of Ankara, which concluded the Umut case involving the murder of Bahriye Üçok, Muammer Aksoy, Ugur Mumcu and Ahmet Taner Kışlalı has decided for convicted prisoners Hasan Kılıc, Mehmet Şahin, Yusuf Karakuş, Recep Aydın and Mehmet Ali Tekin to be tried again.

The defendant's lawyers have reportedly demanded the renewal of the petitioner's trial for infringement in the past week and demanded that the execution be stopped and that the right to fair trial was violated in connection with the right to benefit from the defense right of the lawyers of Kılıç, Karakuş and Şahin in the decision of the Constitutional Court on December 8, 2016, and that the ruling was sent to the Ankara 11th High Criminal Court for a retrial in order to remove the consequences of the allegation.

The lawyers of Hasan Kılıç, Yusuf Karakuş and Mehmet Şahin had been appealed to the Constitutional Court on the grounds that their rights of "fair trial" were violated for "freedom and security of person" during the investigation and trial.

The Supreme Court ruled that there had been a violation of "the right to fair trial within the scope of the equitable trial guaranteed under Article 36 of the Constitution".

Şahin pointed out that the case was a plot of FETO

Mehmet Şahin, one of the victims of the Umut Case, pointed out that the case is a plot of FETO in his previous statement he made to ILKHA.

Şahin emphasized that the Umut Case is a complete scandal in terms of law and said, "Neither a knowledge nor a document nor a delicacy is based on. At first, these expressions were prepared based on the confessions of the confessor's people, and they were forcibly signed to the people. Later on, the case were not dismissed even though these confessors accepted that they had been offered a confession told. Friends accused of murder Uğur Mumcu has been practiced. However, after this exercise was performed and after being shot as a murderer, Abdulhamit Çelik who performed this exercise came up with videos that our friend had a wedding in Istanbul that day and we were all at the wedding. Although we needed to be released, we were arrested again."

Şahin pointed out that the case was a FETO plot, said: "We, the participants of Umut Operation, were publishing a magazine called ‘Tevhid’ at that time, then we published the Selam Newspaper. Then we established the Selam Foundation. We were standing on an anti-imperialist, anti-Zionist line when we were doing these studies, and we constantly made publications on this topic. We have done very serious things in the sense of disclosing the games that America and Israel are playing on Turkiye and at the point of disclosing the dimensions of their operations towards Turkiye. There were very serious social and cultural activities at the point of raising the public awareness of this issue. The first reason was this. The second reason and for me, in fact, the second, but the real reason, we launched a writing series for Fethullah Gülen. We had a brother, Sükuti Memioğlu, whose deceased writer was the author of our newspaper. Under the title of 'Mystical Delusions', from Fethullah Gülen's own articles, quoting from his own books, reveal how deviant a Fethullah Gülen is, what his goals are in this work, the fact that America and global powers are in this business.” (ILKHA)
