Every year in the winter season, the snowfall that affects the eastern provinces in particular can negatively affect the lives of many inhabitants, especially in rural areas. Sometimes there is a need to stop teaching in schools when the village roads are closed, transportation and communication are interrupted.

While the heavy snowfall feeds the land for the spring months, it is difficult to find food for various kinds of animals living in the country because the snow covers the land and vegetation.

In general, although snow may have a negative impact on life, miraculous images, especially reflected in snowflake, contain different wisdoms.

As snowing covers the lands with white and dazzling eyes, the images reflected from each of the snowflakes reflect different beauties. It is also reflected in the photographic squares of how the snow crystals are different and intriguing from each other.

Snow is formed by the gathering of millions of snow crystals. Snow crystals flow into the cold layers of the atmosphere. The tiny water particles transformed into fine ice particles when they come into contact with the cold air generated by minus 4 to minus 20 of the air temperature. Then the snow crystals begin their journey towards the earth.

Snow crystals are only 0.1 mm. size and all exists as hexagonal. Scientists say the miraculous hexagonal form originated from the structure of water molecules.

The water vapor in clouds quickly grows and diversifies as it turns into snow crystals in cold weather. Depending on the air temperature, the wind conditions and the humidity of the air, infinite numbers of snow crystals could be formed.

The shape of snowflakes resembling stars is the most common among snowflakes. A large number of hexagonal crystals come together to form a single snowflake. The time it takes for ice crystals to come out and reach the ground is about an hour. At higher temperatures, greater snowflakes are formed at minus 5 degrees and higher humidity. In low temperatures and dry air, snowflakes are falling in the form of ice particles.

Together with snowfall, snowmen, who are indispensable for young people and children, also not possible all the time. Only the snow, which is more moist and large as a grain, is suitable to make a snowman. Small-grained snow is pointing to the freezing weather. This kind of snowflake is dry and like powdery. This snow, which is also known as brilliant snow, can remain for much longer without melting. This type of snow is an important factor in the formation of glaciers.

The snow has to stay in the air for years to turn into glaciers. After many years, however, old snow, become green or blue color and transforming into glaciers.

Scientists say the white snow scene is just an illusion. The snow, in fact, is made of colorless, consists from transparent water drops. Ice crystals, which give the life to the land, calmness to the soul, and muting the eyes; consists from many corners, ends, planes, performing as infinite mirrors and reflects the white sunlight. (ILKHA)
