Fire in student dorm in Adana: 13 dead

According to the information received, in Sinanpaşa in Aladağ district of Adana, 12 students, one of the trainers lost their lives and 22 others were wounded in the fire broke out in a girl’s dormitory in last night evening.

The fire that emerged in a dormitory in Aladağ province, where the girls living in the surrounding villages remained in secondary school, high school and in balanced schools, for a reason not yet determined, spread up in a short time.

While many firefighters and ambulances were being shipped to the scene, after the flames suddenly began to surround the building, students tried to jump from windows in fear to rescue their lives.

In fire that broke out in a girl’s dormitory which is included in Aladağ Student Help Association in the Age of Education, the injured students are removed from various hospitals, said that the efforts to extinguish the fire continues.

EU Minister Ömer Çelik announced in a private TV channel that 12 people have lost their lives in the fire.

Adana Governor Mahmut Demirtaş also said, "We reached 13 corpse. Those 22 injured people were hospitalized, and rescue work still continues. We hope the death toll not going to rise.” 

While firefighters were put out the fire, the work continues to check is any student remained inside the building. (ILKHA)
