Mardin Civil Society Organizations Platform, union of NGOs operating in the city, held a mass press release to react to PKK’s recent bloody attacks.

After performing Friday prayer in Fuat Yağcı Mosque, located in Artuklu district of Mardin province, people showed broad participation to the press release. By shouting ‘long live hell for all tyrants’ and takbeers, the large crowd expressed their reaction.

Speaking to ILKHA before the press release, Abdulselam Demir said they condemn these attacks in which people harmed, added that this is persecution and no one earns anything from these attacks, we condemn and curse these attacks strongly. We will do everything we can to stop this.

“We don’t approve these attacks unconditionally”

Stating that they gathered to censure PKK attacks and display their reaction, general secretary of Dost-Der association, Muhammed Arasan said: “as you know bomb attacks carried out in Diyarbakır, Mardin, Van, Elazığ and many other places by PKK. A lot of civilians lost their lives in these attacks. We condemn and curse this kind of attacks. This mindset will be folded eventually. No matter who or which organization carry out these attacks, we don’t approve these attacks unconditionally. We expect from our people to act responsibly and do their part.”

“We won’t disunite, remain silent, and get afraid”

Mehmet Yavuz read out the press statement on behalf of the platform. Yavuz :”we , ın the name of our people, answer those who want to frustrate, wearisome and defeat us by resorting blind, ruthless and brutal terror actions. We won’t disunite, remain silent and get afraid against these brutal actions. We call on organizations, people and states that carry out these terror actions; your masks are stripped off and you are caught nude.”

“PKK is enemy of people”

Underscoring that PKK is not a friend of people but their enemy, Yavuz said: “you hate this people and bear enmity. You are the stooges of enemy countries and axis of evil. Our people will never bow their head and be your instrument. Our people have paid very big prices due to terror and violence and unfortunately we are going to continue to pay. We have been giving victims on behalf of racism, cults and factionalism every day.”

“We condemn strongly”

Yavuz said as his last words that: “as Civil Society Organizations in Mardin; we condemn every kind of act, which is carried out behind the cover of violence and weapons targeting civilians and innocent people, regardless of their names or their purposes.
