Martyrs of Susa to be commemorated on Eid al-Fitr
Commemoration of Susa Martyrs, who were martyred in the mosque by PKK on 26th June 1992 in Susa village located near Silvan district in Diyarbakır province, is going to be held on the third day of Eid al-Fitr.
The commemoration event for Susa martyrs, who were slain by PKK militants in Susa village's mosque on June 26, 1992, is going to be held on 7th July due to Ramadan month.
Muhammed Afif Çetinkaya vice chairman of The Association of Marking Susa Victims and the oppressed (Susa-Der), which is operating in Silvan district, remarked that commemoration event is going to be held on the third day of Eid al- Fitr
Reminding the massacre carried out by PKK militants, who were dressed as soldiers, Çetinkaya said: “10 Muslims were martyred and 5 others were wounded in this massacre. After this event we buried many other brothers martyred in Silvan in Susa cemetery. Currently we have 33 martyrs here. For the last two years, the commemoration programs coincided with Ramadan, so we held the commemoration program after Ramadan. We are going to realize the marking program after Ramadan this year, too.
On July 26, 1992, PKK militants, in guise of soldier, raided Susa village mosque and they executed Hüseyin Çetinkaya , Abdülhalik Ugaş, Hacı Ahmet Kantar, Emin Fidancı, Zeki Fidancı, Medeni Fidancı, Said Fidancı, Meki Fidancı, Muhammed Ali Uslu and Adnan Kantar by shooting savagely. (ILKHA)
