President Recep Tayyip Erdogan took to X to share his optimism, stating that Türkiye hopes the agreement will open doors to peace for "our Palestinian brothers and sisters" and benefit all humanity. In a phone conversation with Hamas officials, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan echoed this sentiment, expressing Türkiye's ongoing support for the Palestinian cause and wishing for the cease-fire to prove beneficial to all parties involved.

Numan Kurtulmus, Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, also voiced his support via X, suggesting that this cease-fire should mark the beginning of steps toward a lasting peace.

Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz emphasized Türkiye's commitment to ensuring Gaza's recovery and the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid. "We will mobilize all our resources to ensure that Gaza rises again," he stated, adding that Ankara will defend the Palestinian cause until a permanent political solution is found. He highlighted the importance of a fair two-state solution for regional peace and prosperity.

Akif Cagatay Kilic, a senior advisor to President Erdogan on foreign policy and security, described the cease-fire as "very important" from both legal and humanitarian perspectives. He stressed the need for swift implementation of the agreement and accountability for past actions by the Israeli government.

First Lady Emine Erdogan also welcomed the deal on X, noting that true peace can only be achieved with justice. She pledged Türkiye's continued support for Gaza, aiming to heal the region's wounds together.

The announcement of the cease-fire came from Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, who confirmed that mediation efforts had succeeded and that the cease-fire would begin this Sunday.
