Jewish settlers, backed by Israeli police, desecrate Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem

The settlers entered the Mosque in groups through its Maghariba Gate and roamed its sacred courtyards under tight police protection, according to local sources. During their incursion, rabbis delivered lectures promoting claims about the "alleged temple mount," and several settlers performed provocative Talmudic prayers within the Mosque’s premises.

As this occurred, Israeli occupation forces imposed harsh restrictions on Muslim worshipers, limiting their movement and entry at the Mosque’s entrances and gates. These measures have been widely condemned as part of ongoing efforts to undermine Palestinian access to their holy site.

The Aqsa Mosque faces daily incursions by Jewish settlers and Israeli police forces, except on Fridays and Saturdays. These violations, described as desecration by local Palestinians, are a source of escalating tension in the region.

Jerusalemite figures and Palestinian activists have warned of accelerating Israeli attempts to Judaize the Aqsa Mosque and alter its Islamic identity. They have urged Muslim worshipers to intensify their presence at the holy site to protect it from further desecration and Judaization efforts.

Palestinian activists continue to call for greater awareness and solidarity to safeguard the Aqsa Mosque. They stress the importance of resisting ongoing Israeli violations and preserving the Mosque’s sanctity as a vital symbol of Palestinian heritage and identity. (ILKHA)
