Civilians targeted: 55 dead in Israeli attacks on Gaza schools, shelters
Local sources report that at least 55 Palestinians were killed and several others injured in Israeli attacks on Monday.
The attacks targeted multiple locations in northern Gaza, including a school where displaced individuals were taking shelter.
The bodies of those killed in the attacks, carried out by Israeli warplanes and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), were transported to hospitals.
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli army has continued its offensive on Gaza, resulting in over 46,500 deaths, the majority of whom are women and children. This is despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire.
In November last year, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in the enclave. (ILKHA)
