In a public statement delivered in Diyarbakır’s Yenişehir district, Ramazan Tekdemir, Provincial President of the Confederation of Public Servants Trade Unions (Memur-Sen), decried the massacres committed by Israeli forces, emphasizing the devastating toll on civilians, including women and children.

Tekdemir began by citing verses from the Quran, condemning the aggression and declaring solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people. “Tens of thousands of babies, children, women, and civilians have been massacred since October 7, 2023, by Israeli vandals. Rare atrocities are being witnessed in Gaza, where a heroic and oppressed nation is being recklessly targeted for destruction,” he stated.

Gaza: A Cemetery for Women and Children

Highlighting the dire situation, Tekdemir pointed out that over 50,000 Palestinians have been killed, two-thirds of whom are women and children. He detailed the widespread destruction, with 350,000 homes reduced to rubble, 2 million people displaced, and critical infrastructure—including hospitals, schools, and mosques—obliterated.

"The Israeli regime is not satisfied with blood and tears; it is even attacking tent cities where displaced Palestinians seek refuge," he said, calling attention to the deepening humanitarian crisis exacerbated by harsh winter conditions, hunger, and disease.

Humanity’s Conscience at a Crossroads

Tekdemir expressed frustration over the silence of Muslim-majority nations and the global community. “The 8 billion humanity remains blind, deaf, and dumb to this cruelty. Gaza’s borders remain blockaded, and every day brings heartbreaking news of children perishing in the cold,” he said.

He also criticized international organizations, including the United Nations and the International Criminal Court, accusing them of failing to uphold justice. “States and systems that cannot establish peace and justice are doomed to disappear,” Tekdemir remarked, calling for a new order inspired by the resilience of Gaza's resistance.

Call for a “Jerusalem Alliance”

Tekdemir proposed the establishment of a regional “Jerusalem Alliance” to mobilize against Israeli aggression. “Concrete steps must be taken to stop the Israeli occupation. No one with a conscience can remain silent in the face of this genocide,” he said, urging Turkey and other regional countries to lead the charge.

He outlined specific demands, including:

-Immediate action from Islamic and conscientious states to halt the genocide in Gaza.

-Pressure on the international community to end Israeli massacres.

-Establishment of regional alliances to counteract Israel's expansionist policies.

-Support for Hamas' conditions for a ceasefire, including Israeli withdrawal and reconstruction efforts in Gaza.

-Protection of Syria's territorial integrity and support for nations like Yemen, Iraq, Iran, and Lebanon against Israeli aggression.

-Continued boycott of products linked to Israeli support and cessation of trade with Israel, particularly oil shipments.

-Urgent enactment of laws in Turkey targeting Israeli citizens involved in the Gaza genocide.

In conclusion, Tekdemir reiterated the foundation's unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause. “We will defend Jerusalem with determination until the Israeli occupation regime is wiped off the map. Greetings to the heroic people of Gaza and the mujahideen resisting Israeli occupation,” he declared, naming Palestinian leaders as symbols of the ongoing struggle.
