In an official statement, Fitrat refuted allegations that billions of dollars in aid had been provided to the Islamic Emirate, emphasizing that the group had never received any such financial support from the US nor had it made any requests for it.

Fitrat further criticized the US for not only withholding aid but also for blocking access to billions of dollars in Afghan assets. He described this as an act of usurpation, denying the Afghan people their rightful resources.

“The funds that the US refers to are primarily the costs associated with the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan,” Fitrat stated, urging that these should not be misconstrued as aid to the Islamic Emirate.

The deputy spokesman also reaffirmed that the Islamic Emirate has no expectations of receiving financial assistance from the United States in the future.

This denial comes amid growing tensions between Afghanistan's new rulers and the US, following the US’s abrupt withdrawal from the country in 2021 and its continued hold on Afghan assets. (ILKHA)
